Recently I had some problems with my windows installer system in my laptop. Had it since I updated the windows update. It happened just before I bought my CnC3. So installing the game was quite a hassle, but it still wasn't much of a deal to me. I just had to use my desktop to install the game into my portable harddisk, then export the registry into my laptop, change the install path, etc. But seriously.. it's really irritating to have this crappy problem. I can't install any updates, add-on, etc, practically anything that requires "Windows Install Sheild; Windows Installer" in order to procede on to the setup.
Earlier today, I had found a cure to this dumb crap. By checking the windows installer logon option to "Allow service to interact with desktop" and changing the startup mode to "automatic", the windows installer magically worked again. So I quickly tried to install CnC: Renegade into my laptop.
Before I could do that.. out of no where my FireFox Browser or Internet Explorer kept have the error of.. "FireFox/IE could not access to (server name;
http://yahoo.com.sg)" So I decided to reboot the laptop.. BAM!! BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!
!@#$!
And the most crap part was.. I retried rebooting in the following config:-
safe mode
safe mode and command promt only
last known configuration that worked
start windows normally
They all resulted in the blue screen of death that lasts for a split second, followed by a restart. There wasn't even enough time for me to read what was the error code etc.. Just came back from the service centre at Funan IT mall.. had to pay a diagnostic fee of $80 upfront, before they even check what's wrong with it.. fortunately parts is still covered, so what ever hardware that they diagnosed is spoilt, they would replace them foc for me =)

Mean while it's a good time for me to take a break from my laptop, and start mugging for my upcoming semestral examinations.. Lol.
